At RoyalCrest Academy , we offer an enriched program based on the guidelines set forth by the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum. Our teachers are encouraged to be creative, yet adhere to the program guidelines of the Academy's Principal. This teaching guideline ensures consistency in our curriculum regardless of grade level. This system ensures complete continuity as each student moves from one grade to the next.
A student is placed in his or her age appropriate class at RoyalCrest Academy (unless otherwise discussed with the Principal.) The core subjects including Math, Language, Social Studies, and Science & Technology are taught by the appropriate Grade Teacher. The remaining classes will be taught by specialist teachers - French, Arts & Drama, Music and Physical Education. One of our primary objectives is to ensure that every student fully comprehends the Ontario School Curriculum before moving forward into our enriched program. We accomplish this by:
1) A low student : teacher ratio
2) Utilizing additional resource books for students working above his/her grade level.
3) Providing a daily supervised Homework Club for students JK - grade 8.
4) Evaluating student more consistently throughout the year.If a student is found to be having difficulty with his/her academics, parents will be notified immediately and the student will be required to attend the Homework Club daily. If the student continues to struggle, another meeting will be held with the parents to discuss the option of further tutoring.
